That is why I asked what he listened to. If he listens to top 40, or things like polka, or talk radio, then he doesn't need top of the line equipment. For a real challenge, try classical music, which is extremely difficult for a car stereo to reproduce, especially with the car in motion. I agree that a top of the line system would be able to reproduce all music well, but not everyone has the money to install one, or the willingness to give up the room for the equipment.
